Riri's Breasts Are Talk of the Town

Rihanna won the Fashion Icon Award at the CFDAs. Naturally, she had to prove herself as a deserving candidate by bearing her breasts in a sheer fishnet Adam Selman gown with matching gloves and hairnet. It was a moment that will go down in history and it has marked her as the Madonna of current decade. While this isn't the first time Rihanna flashes her breasts, somehow it crossed the threshhold of appropriate award show attire. Personally, I think the fur stole stole the show, but in the battle between breasts and stole, breasts always win.

Though Rihanna has always revealed her bold fashion sense with striking haircuts, sexy deep V dresses, and sport chic ensembles, this one takes the cake. Flooding the Twittersphere, the blogosphere, and everyone's Facebook newsfeed, this look is all anyone is talking about. Forget Kimye's wedding, Rihanna proudly flashed the entire fashion industry and well, the world.

Do we approve? Some would say it was vulgar and distasteful. Others would say it was #forthesakeoffashion. Rihanna probably doesn't care though, so what we think is hardly relevant.

Was she doing it to prove a point or just because? Perhaps she was just being Rihanna and this is what Rihanna does.  Is she just trying to outdo Miley? Has she taken her rebel image too far? Was it merely a further call for attention? Did she just really like the dress and it happened to be transparent?

OR let us ponder the real question at hand. Would you do it?

I'd say, probably not.

But perhaps that's why she's the one getting the fashion award and not you. Maybe bearing your breasts is all it takes to capture everyone's attention.

Think about it.

#IconCity: BadGal Wins Fashion Award

Rihanna doesn't do normal. It's just not part of her fashion vocabulary. A bold diva through and through, this woman aims to impress. Nobody wears a baseball cap like Rihanna and that's one of the reasons she's so fabulous. After winning the CFDA award for Icon of the Year, she obviously needed a place in IconCity. It's self-explanatory. At Paris fashion week, our jaws dropped lower and lower with each outfit and somehow, she managed to distract us from the other fashionistas on the streets. As the recent poster girl for Balmain, she incites us all to take a step closer to the wild side with loud embellishments that emanate sex appeal. Are you ready for some badgal Riri? If not, don't fret. Most people aren't prepared for these extravagant fashion statements.

Rihanna is the queen of boyish hats and she inspired me to give this look a try. That's a sign of a true fashionista.

Meanwhile, at the Chanel Haute Couture fashion show, Riri sported this gorgeous sheer white dress with layers and layers of pearls. Let's not neglect to mention that amazing bag.

So, let's all propose a toast to Rihanna's impeccable sense of style and to her CFDA Icon Award. Based on these choices, she definitely deserves it.

Rihanna for Balmain: Predictability At Its Best

When I watch a Romantic Comedy, I expect the two protagonists to end up together at the end. It is predictable and cliche, but it MUST happen. On the rare occasion that it doesn't, it is thrown into the "bad film" pile stationed on the left side of my brain. Once in a while, a movie just throws you a lemon and you wonder why you wasted two hours watching a couple fall in love only to witness their final break up. When the credits get rolling, you find yourself wondering what happened to the rest of the film and give your television screen a bewildered stare.

Sometimes, we all crave a little predictability to escape the disappointment that comes with every day life. We also need to be reassured that people out there are making smart decisions, because frankly, if the shoe fits...

When it just feels right and we're all thinking it, it is probably because it is. THAT is how I feel about Rihanna for Balmain. This Spring 2014 campaign features bad girl Riri herself and frankly, it was only a matter of time. Her edgy diva image aligns with Olivier Rousteing's glam rock collection perfectly. I am absolutely in love with this brand and Rihanna, so in my eyes, this is incredible news. I find his collections empowering and sultry with a dab of attitude. Putting Rihanna in those clothes is like adding strawberries to your vanilla ice cream. It just fits well together and enhances the flavour. Rihanna embodies this brand and though I didn't believe it to be possible, amplifies its image. She is exactly who I would've have imagined as the poster girl for Balmain and THAT is what I love about it.
