#IconCity: Sarah Jessica Parker, Our SATC Fashion Soul Sister

Carrie Bradshaw may have been our original icon back in the 90s, but Sarah Jessica Parker is still the face behind the character and her fashion sense seems to be even more amazing than Carrie's. Everyone from Karl Lagerfeld to Anna Wintour is BFF's with this chic celebrity and who can blame them? Her style is a combination of class and flamboyance which nobody can emulate and she consistently keeps her crowd guessing. Years after her reign as Carrie, she remains one of our biggest fashion icons and we await her Red Carpet presence at every awards season. Let's not forget that she was chosen to play the Editor-In-Chief of a top fashion magazine on Glee to reaffirm her power within the industry. Cheers to SJP.

Here are some of her best looks.

LOOK 1
This may appear simple, but the accessorizing is pure SJP. Strand of pearls, anyone?

LOOK 2
This sexy Naeem Khan fringe dress that she wore last year had us all experiencing some serious body envy.

LOOK 3
Can you say chic? The coat, her hair, the handbag, oh my. Inevitably, it's Alexander McQueen.

LOOK 4
Speaking of McQueen, this particular look was a total dream at the Sex and the City 2 Premiere. Are you as obsessed with the crazy hat as I am?

The amount of pretty in this dress cannot be calculated. I die for this Elie Saab gown.

#IconCity: I Know It's Cliché, but Kate Middleton Is The New Jackie O

This biggest feat I've ever had to surmount was to select my favourite Kate Middleton looks because she may just be a Duchess in England, but to me, she is the Queen of fashion. Ever since Kate entered the fashion sphere, we've been enviously ogling at her brilliant style choice and aspiring to attend galas simply to justify dressing with that much elegance every day. Don't get me wrong. I'm sure that Kate wears jeans every now and again, but in my book, her pyjamas consist of a selection of Oscar de la Renta suits. It's clear to see that Kate is the new icon in the monarchy as she invades social media platforms every time she leaves the White House. She is the epitome of chic in every circumstance, whether a golf course or a derby. And don't even get me started on those fabulous hats.

Here are five of my favourite Kate Middleton looks.

LOOK 1
Kate knows how to take a simple look and make us all swoon. From the Charleston hat to the sleek pastel coat, this outfit is nothing short of perfect.

LOOK 2
Let's all marvel at Kate's incredible taste in coats. She pulls off military chic better than any of us.

Yet another coat I'm in love with. I'd like to place an order.

#IconCity: Blair Waldorf Is Still An Icon In My World

Gossip Girl may have ended, but it defined my personal style throughout high school and made me unable to get over the school girl look despite having graduated five years ago. I know what you're thinking. Move on. That's like asking Daniel Radcliffe to forget he was ever Harry Potter. It was the role that changed his life. In that same way, Gossip Girl changed mine. It marked my adolescence and every other high school girl's, particularly the fashionably inclined. Though many were drawn to Serena van der Woodsen's boho effortless style, I loved Blair's even more. She always looked chic and put together, from her bows that converted me to the trend forever and those consistently gorgeous high heels (because real betches wear heels to school. Duh.) I know that Leighton Meester isn't Blair, but she was my icon and needs to be on this list. Serena can't do it without her. So here are five of my favourite Leighton Meester looks.

LOOK 1
Spotted: Blair looking amazing in black and white Balmain at The Judge Premiere. Are we envious? Yes.
via People Stylewatch
LOOK 2
A classy girl always knows that her best outfit is her little black dress. Queen Blair invented that memo. After Chanel, of course.

LOOK 4
Can you say Va-Va-Voom? Blair, sorry, Leighton, looks divine at the Charles James: Beyond Fashion Met Gala. PS. It was Emilio Pucci.

LOOK 5
The difference between Blair and Leighton? Leighton is downtown edge, while Blair is school girl chic. If there's anything I love, it's a statement pant.

#IconCity: London Loves Kate Moss and I Do Too

Let's talk about the biggest icon the London scene brought into our lives: Kate Moss. It's a wonder she hasn't made this list until now. Anyone who thinks of London fashion immediately turns to Kate Moss. She's that girl everyone has heard of who conveys a glamorous lifestyle simply based on the way she dresses. Moss has walked every runway show imaginable from Burberry to Alexander McQueen. Discovered at the ripe age of 14, this girl was born to model. After jumpstarting her career with a Calvin Klein campaign in 1993, she's become unforgettable. She may have just turned 40, but her recent campaigns for Stuart Weitzman and Burberry fragrance with her successor Cara Delevingne proves she's still got it.

Let's take a look at some of her best looks.

LOOK 1
Kate rocks this hat like no other Brit and I'm a sucker for a great hat. She wears head-to-toe black without looking too plain. If you know Kate Moss, you know that plain is never a word associated with this model. She may be wearing flats, but she always looks glamorous.
via elementsofstyleblog.com
LOOK 2
Kate wears a leopard coat without looking too kitschy and that says a lot. With a bold yellow clutch, she knows that you can never make too many statements with black when it comes to accessorizing. I couldn't agree more.
via instyle.hu
LOOK 3
Kate does the 80s look and of course, it looks amazing. I have a soft spot for great shoulder pads and Kate proves that it is not tacky in the least.
via www.company.co.uk
LOOK 4
Matching outfits are very on trend this season and Kate wears it effortlessly. This is all very Juicy Couture circa 1995.
via lolobu
LOOK 5
Kate is known for her luxurious furs that characterize her as a glamorous woman. This one is to-die-for and this is her on a candid day. How do you look at your most candid?

#IconCity: Kaley Cuoco, One of My Favourite Blonds

Once upon a time, Kaley Cuoco was just Bridget on 8 Simple Rules, the bold older sib to her redheaded sister. She was one of those actresses I thought would forever be known for that role. One day, everything changed. The Big Bang Theory happened and she became Penny, everyone's favourite ditzy blond. As a woman in comedy, she automatically lands a spot in IconCity because frankly, we all love to laugh at cocktail parties. Also, it cannot be denied that this woman has an amazing sense of style.

Let's take a look at some of her best outfits.

LOOK 1
Seriously, though. Don't you wish you could match your outfit as well as Kaley? It takes a true style star to pull off head-to-toe florals. And it doesn't end there. A pair of stunning pink pumps was just what the fashion doctor ordered.
via t.entertainment.msn.com
LOOK 2
Clearly, Kaley loves her matching head-to-toe florals. This time, she went for blue in honour of the Blue Jasmine premiere. Are you loving this Zimmermann look as much as I am?
via usmagazine.com
LOOK 3
Kaley does the girly thing better than any of us and somehow, she doesn't look like she's 12. With a pretty in pink Basler dress and heart-shaped glasses, she has me smitten.
via stylebistro.com
LOOK 4
This is just so darn cute, I want to squish it. Those Tory Burch shorts are to-die-for and I'm loving that pedicure.
via fabsugar.com
LOOK 5
Obviously, Kaley is a princess from a faraway land we all wish we lived in. Usually, I'm not a fan of feathers, but she pulls it off and in mint green, no less.
via movies.yahoo.com
What do you think of Kaley's style? Love it or hate it?

Ponder That,

#IconCity: Lizzy Caplan Is Underrated

September is a month of new beginnings, fresh starts, new pages, and other such variations of those words. It means that all our favourite fall primetime shows are about to return and we can only count down the days from here. As such, I've decided to start watching a new show in honour of the running September theme and I opted for Masters of Sex starring Lizzy Caplan (AKA Janice Ian). Like (nearly) everyone, I am a Mean Girls and I couldn't wait to see Lizzy Caplan in a brand new setting. As well, I've begun a trend of only watching shows that took place in a period other than my own, so this seemed like the perfect choice. After the first few episodes, I must admit that this show looks promising and I am eager to catch up with the rest of y'all. In honour of Lizzy, let's take a look at her best looks.

LOOK 1
Lizzy looks classy as ever in James Jeans high-waisted pants and a button down shirt a la androgynous. I'm loving the masculine-inspired fashion this season and this look screams "try me".
LOOK 2
Lizzy proves that she can look feminine as well in a maxi skirt with a touch of pink and striking cobalt blue shoes. Loving it.
via Harper's Bazaar
LOOK 3
Lizzy looks adorable and feminine in this Suno dress and I love her decision to combine it with these burgundy stilettos and clutch.
via Fab Sugar
LOOK 4
Lizzy Caplan stuns once again in a feminine multi-coloured Lisa Ho dress with bold yellow shoes.
via InStyle
LOOK 5
My favourite look, this elegant Reem Acra houndstooth getup is on my current wishlist. PS The shoes are Aldo (represent).

What do you think of Lizzy's looks? Which one is your favourite?

#IconCity: I'm Simply Obsessed with Kerry Washington

This week, the Emmy's were on (on a Monday night, no less) and somehow, I survived the entire show without falling asleep. Despite the valiant efforts of Seth Meyers, some jokes just didn't translate into laughs and the evening continued to drag on. For celebrities, it's a lovely event as well as an occasion to get all dressed up and hope for a win. For us common folk, it's just background noise while we compulsively check our social media combined with a bit of FOMO.

Anyway, one of my favourite parts about these awards shows is the Red Carpet (if you hadn't already figured that one out). One of the standouts at every event is Kerry Washington. Not only is she beautiful, but she is ALWAYS best-dressed. Everything she wears looks like it was custom made for her (and this time, it actually was) and she's consistently a stand-out. Watching her walk the Red Carpet makes me want to check out Scandal for more of a glimpse at her style. With a repertoire of films, I definitely have a lot of catching up to do. For now, let us just marvel as some of her best looks.

LOOK 1
You wish you looked this good in white. Wearing a classy Cushnie et Ochs suit with a slight peplum, Kerry looks enviably amazing. Let's not forget to mention her pop of colour with those red Brian Atwood pumps and that standout Kate Spade New York clutch. I'm dying for this.
via InStyle
LOOK 2
Only a girl with serious style savvy could pull off this high-low dress in electric orange. As soon as I saw this Michael Kors look on the runway, I knew that only a true diva could wear it and own it. Kerry wears it beautifully and with a stunning bun that we're all fantasizing about.
via thefashionspot.ca
LOOK 3
This look accentuates Kerry's gorgeous curves and once again, that pop of red was exactly what this outfit needed. Not afraid of a bold print, Kerry proves that she really is an icon to admire.
via berrysa.blogspot.ca
LOOK 4
Has your jaw dropped yet? This is so incredibly beautiful, I want it to be my wedding dress. And that hair is a complete dream. I'm speechless.
via InStyle
LOOK 5
This is definitely my favourite Red Carpet look on Kerry and that says a lot considering that I love ALL her Red Carpet looks. I'm obsessed the perfect fit of this mermaid Zuhair Murad gown . And her hair is, simply put, amazing.
via fabsugar.com
What do you think of Kerry's style? Which is your favourite look?

#IconCity: When Bella and Bella Collide

I love Bella Thorne because we share a name. It cannot be denied that I don't really know anything about her other than the fact that she has amazing style and obviously, that we have the same name. Due to this embarrassing tidbit, I decided to do some research and here is what I discovered.

1) Her name is actually Annabella (so we don't actually share a name).
2) She's 5"8. I'm 5"1 (we clearly have NOTHING in common).
3) She played a young Taylor Townsend on The O.C once (I loved the O.C.)
4) She is a natural redhead (Mind. Blown.)
5) She sponsors a child in Kenya (she cares about people).

Based on the knowledge I acquired from IMDB, I've concluded that she deserves to be part of IconCity. Mazel Tov.

Here are some of her best looks.

LOOK 1
Yes, she is a Disney girl. So what? Does she not deserve to be an icon at such a young age? If anything, her early success is pretty iconic. Also, she knows that emerald green looks amaze on a ginger. 2 points.
via Teen Vogue
LOOK 2
Let's all take a lesson from Bella Thorne. Florals and neutrals look incredible together. This is essentially Adele's Valentino gone right. And the Pocahontas braid adds extra disney points. 3 points.
via outfitidentifier.com
LOOK 3
Somehow, Bella wears a crop top with cutouts and it looks perfectly classy. It's called "pairing it with a pencil skirt". Of course, this pastel hue looks perfect against her porcelain Irish skin. And add points for that bun, please. 4 points.
via Teen Vogue
LOOK 4
This is so cute. I'm Rachel Zoe dying for it. Palm trees are all the rage and this lady knows it. Besides, anything Fausto Puglisi gets points in my book. 5 points.
via stylevanity.com
LOOK 5
To some this may be a bit "whoa", but to me, that's an accomplishment. If you can wear head-to-toe prints and pull it off, kudos to you. Matching her hair to her outfit is genius and that messy bun is beyond.
via modamob.com
Holler if you think she deserves to be in IconCity. If not, that's fine too.

Ponder it,

XOXO,

Bella

#IconCity: Introducing Jamie Chung

Great style deserved to be recognized. That is why I created IconCity in the first place. The newest member to arrive is Jamie Chung. No anti-climactic drumroll necessary. After several small roles in some hit films, Jamie introduced herself into the fashion world as one to watch. Though she is known for her breakout role in The Real World, her ability to look amazing at every possible social event is what qualifies really got her noticed (in my personal opinion).

Take a look at some of her best look.

LOOK 1
NYFW S/S 2014 BCBG
Leather and denim is a killer combo that nobody would have thought of pairing together. Except Jamie Chung. And let's not neglect to mention her #forthesakeoffashion choice to wear her jacket over the shoulders AS SHE SHOULD.
via whowhatwear.com
LOOK 2
Marchesa Bridal Show
As soon as she wore it, this mesh Elizabeth and James skirt landed her on every best-dressed list. Topped with a chic red blazer and killer shoes, we'd be crazy not to kill for this outfit.
via People.com
LOOK 3
Street Style
Who else knows how to mix prints in such an expert fashion? Jamie Chung showcases this AMAZING look with her hair casually pulled back. That Isabel Marant jacket is to die for.
via whowhatwear.com
LOOK 4
Launch of Brancott Estate Flight Song
So simple, yet so perfect. The classic white Zara crop top and midi skirt ensemble projects an angelic vibe while her studded BCBG jacket begs to differ. This is exactly what I stand for.
via Instyle.com
LOOK 5
Summer 2013
Clearly a fellow print lover, Jamie Chung proves that a dress in itself can make a bold statement, no accessories needed.
via Instyle.com
Keep your eyes out for Jamie Chung. She's definitely a force to be reckoned with.

What do you think of her style? Does it merit best-dressed status?

TGIF!

#IconCity: Another Reason To Be Jealous of Suki Waterhouse (Other Than Bradley Cooper)

I know that Suki Waterhouse is fresh out of the stork's basket, but she's still worthy of IconCity because she encapsulates that London cool we all aspire to. A sprinkle of retro, some Burberry coats, a few rockstar booties, and enviable hats place her on every best dressed list and her growing popularity caused by her adorable blondness and beau, Bradley Cooper, cannot be denied. Discovered at the ripe age of 16, Suki Waterhouse is a fashion editorial princess who can do no wrong. With that innocent look reminiscent of Twiggy, she may be the next big London face (watch out Cara).

Here are some of her best looks:

LOOK 1
Anyone who can pull off the floppy hat is a winner in my book. Go Suki!
via howtochic.blogspot.it
LOOK 2
Suki masters the masculine chic look with a grey Burberry suit and killer wedges. I envy.
via Elle Uk
LOOK 3
The moment I laid eyes on this dress, I fell in love with Suki Waterhouse. She's a vision in baby pink Emilia Wickstead and I WANT.
via Elle UK
LOOK 4
Somehow, this look captures sexy schoolgirl without trying too hard. How? Only Suki knows.
via whowhatwear
LOOK 5
Can I please be cool enough to wear this metallic jacket? K, thanks.
via Vogue UK
That's all she wrote folks. Keep your eyes peeled for Suki. She's a fashion force to be reckoned with.
