#IconCity: Rising Star Liya Kebede

Ethiopian model, Liya Kebede, is the next lady to land in IconCity for her glamorous sense of style and rising modelling career. Kebede has walked in shows like Louis Vuitton and Proenza Schouler. She's covered magazines like Marie Claire and Vogue Italia. She also happens to be a L'Oreal girl, a sign of success in the fashion and beauty industries. On the side, she just happens to be a mother to two gorgeous children, Suhul and Raee. Kebede was the first black cover star of Vogue Paris in five years, covering the most recent May Issue of the magazine. At 39 years old, she remains one to watch and her career just keeps on flourishing.

Latest It-Girl on the fashion scene, Gigi Hadid, has made it into Iconcity because of her penchant for style and her appearance at the hottest shows at Fashion Month. Head-to-head with Kendall Jenner, who can tell which if these women will rise to the top faster? Though Kendall has a one-up on Hadid due to her Kardashian liaison, the latter remains a favourite amongst designers like Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors, so watch out Kendall. Some may say she has been on the rise for years, landing her first gig with Marciano at 2 years old, but Gigi has come a long way since then and her modelling gig is just beginning.

If anyone in the entire fashion stratosphere deserves icon status, it is the queen of the runway, Naomi Campbell. Not only was she one of the top supermodels of the 90's, but she continues to model today on the DVF runway and runs her own show, The Face. Let's not forget to mention her most recent ad campaign for Burberry with the successor to the Campbell throne, Jourdan Dunn. Another thing she does incredibly well? Style. The KardashaJenner Disease

Apparently, everyone has caught the bug and I'm not quite sure who started it. I'm thinking it was a sex tape, but that's just my hypothesis.

If you haven't been keeping up with the Kardashajenners, that's okay. Neither have I.

The only Kardashajenner that has caught my eye is Kendall, simply because she's prancing down those #NYFW runways like its nobody's business.

Is she a good model? Perhaps. Did she work her way up? Probably not. She does happen to be the most successful Kardashian of the bunch though, so kudos to her.

Is her name what got her famous? Probably.

But frankly, who cares? She's walking DVF, Tommy Hilfiger, and Donna Karan runways and laughing at us all while sipping cocktails with the designers themselves backstage.

Now here's the question of the day: why is everyone so obsessed with these darn Kardashians? Or better yet, how did they manage to cover every US Weekly and InTouch in sight? What's the deal, yo?

There are plenty of women with booty in the business who happen to have some talent to speak of (J.Lo) Sorry, Kim. Kanye makes you popular.

Kourtney's on the sidelines, which probably categorizes her as smartest Kardashajenner of the bunch. She also gets points for having a really cute kid.

Meanwhile, where's Khloe? I wouldn't know. I don't keep up.

Kylie is the underrated Jenner sister who probably leads the best life since she's least likely to be recognized on the street. Maybe she's just too cool for Kardashian. Her style is pretty awesome and she's a little edgier than Kendall, but unfortunately, she hasn't made it as big and that makes things a little awkward.

So, here's a question that's been plaguing all of our minds for every year Kardashian has been part of our vocabulary: what's up with all those K's? Is that how they got famous? Should I give all my children names that start with B? Is that the key to fame? Is that how I should choose my man?

Fashion Week has just begun and Kendall is the talk of the town. Perhaps if she weren't a Kardashajenner, I may have liked her more as a model. Maybe that makes me judgemental, but in the end, who isn't judgmental when it comes to these ladies? Or maybe I'm being too hash?

Poppy is that girl who prances around Coachella hand in hand with Cara Delevingne. They look strikingly similar, but somehow, you can't quite place her. She may be her older sibling, but Poppy is the more subdued Delevingne that lingers in the shadows and occasionally models for brands such as Mango, Diesel, Marc Jacobs, and Burberry. Casual. She may be living in Cara's shadow, but perhaps it keeps her sane. A mix of country girl chic and a slice of glamour, Poppy never ceases to surprise her audience with her envy worthy style choices. #IconCity: Well Done Jourdan Dunn

As promised, Jourdan Dunn is now a new resident of IconCity. One of the top models at London Fashion Week, a Burberry girl, and a woman with her own YouTube cooking show (Well Dunn With Jourdan Dunn), this girl is every woman I aspire to be. Her effortless boyish style and undeniable sex appeal make her a top contender for IconCity (and another woman I'd love to have at a dinner party, mostly because she can actually cook). This girl is unstoppable and happens to represent my two favourite affordable brands: H&M and TopShop. Every morning I get dressed thinking "what would Jourdan Dunn wear?" and follow suit. She may have gotten kicked out of a Dior Couture show for her larger than average bust, but that's also one of the reasons she and I can relate (not the Dior part). Dior's loss, am I right?
